Upgrade from 130 Stereo to Sirius...missing components?
I currently have the very basic Model 130 stereo (currently no Sirius, Bluetooth, etc.) in my Compass. I'd like to make the upgrade to a 130S, simply so I can listen to Sirius radio. I was told by an installer that in order to pick up Sirius on the 130S, I will need a "satellite tuner kit" (or something along those lines) which can be purchased through a dealer. I assumed that this sort of thing was included in the stereo itself and I would probably just need an antenna to make it work, but I seem to be getting conflicting reports.
Has anyone ever gone from a non-Sirius stock radio to one that has Sirius? What parts are necessary? Do I need a "satellite tuner kit" or is it already built into the stereo?
Back of the 130S radio should be a yellow female connector, that is for the satellite antenna. And that's it.
