Bmw/mercedes style running board?!

Check this out for a different running board option, very similar to the BMW x5 style:

Anyone actually own these? Like them, but would like to get opinions on quality and install of product.

I was right next to one in a parkling lot yesterday & checked out the running boards on the MB. They look sturdy and wide, but a little blingy for my own tastes.

Re: Bmw/mercedes style running board?!

Prior to the purchase of my Summit, I had a 2007 MB GL-450. The GL didn't come with the factory running boards like they do now, so I had them added. When I added them, I was told by the shop that there was an option to get an extra support bar that would allow you to actually "step" on the running board...go figure. They told me that many running boards are actually not meant to be stepped on with much weight, if any. To be safe, I went ahead and opted for the extra support bar. I knew my elderly family members would be using the running board and didn't want to have any problems. Anyway, you may want to find out from the seller or manufacturer how much true weight they can support and if there's an option for an extra support bar.

Anybody have these already? Thinking about pulling the trigger on them
