Re: Delivery time

Ours arrived at Wollongong on 20 Jan 14, shipped to the holding yard at Ingleburn on 21 Jan 14 and finally arrived at the dealers today - 19 Jan 14. I think it took less time to get from America to Wollongong than the 20 odd kilometres from Ingleburn to the Narellan dealership.

I'm hoping the wait is worthwhile!.

What did you buy?

Re: Delivery time

Shipped docked Port Kembla Oct 30.
Picked up from dealer Nov 21st. It was at the dealer about 10 days before that from memory.
It goes from the docks to Prix Cars who are supposed to do some of the local prep. This can take 2-6 weeks, before moving onto the dealer.

As a level 4, no doubt you are tracking. You can also track the ship. Once here after a week, you can call Prix Cars give them you VIN and ask for the timeline. As long as the dealer has processed it, they can give you a date. There is no issue calling Prix Cars, they take calls from end users every day, especially as people import their own cars deal with them.

Thanks Snuke
Yes I am tracking it, at present its at Curtis Bay waiting for shipment
I ordered it on 12th October thinking that would be plenty of time for the trip I have planned up the middle and around the West coast. Supposed to leave on 27th April with accomodation booked in Darwin & Broome......

Re: Delivery time

Nice !!
With ORA 2 do u get select speed control with hill ascent?

Guth 02-21-2014 12:17 AM

Re: Delivery time

We are getting hill ascent / descent and select speed, but not as part of the ORA pack. I though they were standard features with the 4 X 4 models. I'll not be happy camper if
I got that wrong.

Re: Delivery time

yes its so confusing. I presumed with an overland crd & ORA 11 it came with select speed hill ascent/descent
reading these forums I not too sure now

Re: Delivery time

Your post just prompted me to recheck on the JGC web page, under model specs the hill descent / ascent is listed as standard for all 4 x 4 models. Sight of relief! Of interest I am getting the anderson plug and electronic trailer brake control installed by the dealer. They rang me yesterday to get me to call the auto electrician. He told me that the Jeeps (like many new 4 x 4) have a computer controlled alternator and the standard isolation switch (to stop the trailer battery draining the car battery when the engine is not running) will not work - only triggering a high enough voltage to charge the second battery 30 - 40 % of the time when driving, meaning that you cannot fully charge the second battery from the car. The solution involves a higher cost part of course, but I am glad they told me. You would think the dealer would have known this as they sell JGC to tow.

I have been trying to figure out why no other Aussies are posting in this thread. It is because you have posted it in a Export area not frequented by them.
This is the export area that will get more attention and info for you - Export Grand Cherokee 2011+ - Jeep Garage - Jeep Forum
