'11 Jeep GC RPM problems

Just purchased a used 11 JGC with 35k miles on it. After a few days I notice that as it shifts into second there is a drop in RPM's and my car bogs down, making me accelerate to get them back up. Does anyone know if this is a computer or injection problem or am I looking at something serious?

V6 or V8?

It's normal for RPM to decrease after up-shift, but shouldn't bog down.

It's a V6. Understand there's a drop, but this seems like it takes too long to pick back up, hence the bog down feeling. It feels like it's looking for the gear.

I remember that back in late '11 there was a TSB for a transmission firmware flash that made the lower gear shift points much better on my '11 Laredo X 4x4 V6. Make sure yours has had that TSB.

Could it just be the nature of the 5 speed? I remember that transmission having a lot of "dead spots" where there just wasn't the right gear available at certain speeds/situations. One of the many many reasons I love the 2014. That new 8 speed is worth every penny. It is literally perfect
