Vents not blowing hard
 
I have an 02 GCL In line 6, 4.0L. I've had it for about two months I love it so far wondering why my vents were not blowing very hard. I had the coolant flushed when I got it, because it was blowing cold. It was fixed and the blower won't blow very hard, it barely defrost the windows and unless I drive for a while It's not enough to warm me up, any suggestions???

Could be bad/stuck thermostat
Maybe clogged heater core/hoses

Those could cause no heat

Might also check the blower motor wire harness under your glove box, sometimes just jiggling it will get the high fan working, the black wire sometimes gets hot and melts the plug a bit making a bad connection.

Thanks, the hoses have been flushed and the heater core was checked and it was fine. I have not tried to jiggle the harness under the glove box I will try that, but I had thought maybe it was a cabin air filter clogged or something to do with the compartment but not sure.

02 did not come with a cabin air filter as standard, the filter itself was an option - but they all have the housing for it, but certainly a good thing to check since they're supposed to be changed once a year if installed.

Did you solve this low flow problem? If the fan still runs and seems to be making the normal noise as ever, then have a look at the recirculation door. Many times the door hinge fails and the door falls down, blocking partly the airflow. You can see this door when you lower the blower motor and look up through the hole. If you can see the door in horizontal position, then try to move it up by hand. If it moves without any force, then the hinge(s) is/are broken. Some people just put this door in the up position using some kind of wire. Ofcourse you loose the recirculation function doing this.

Have your hvac scanned of any doors have a travel too far the

Sorry fat fingers hit send anyway if any of your actuators have a Dtc for travel too far the door is broken usually the mode or recirculate door better to change them both gotta pull the dash to get the housing out good luck
