After Market Radio Harness

Hey, I am thinking of installing a pioneer appradio 3 or pioneer AVIC-500 Nex aftermarket radio in my 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I was wondering how I can find out if this will fit in my jeep, or if there is a harness I could put around it so it will fit/stay. Also, do you know of any aftermarket touchscreen radios Sirius satellite ready that are a little cheaper than the Nex? Thank you.

Nex:
AVIC-5000NEX - In-Dash Navigation AV Receiver with 6.1” WVGA Touchscreen Display, 7.9 Million POIs and Text-to-Speech Voice Guidance, MirrorLink™ Compatible, Dual Rear USB Ports and Micro SD Card Slot, 3 Hi-Volt RCA Preouts (4V) | Pioneer

If you look in the Audio thread, you will see many discussions about what is needed to swap out the radio, and many excellent recommendations as to what works well.

Alternatively, if you google 'Crutchfield' all of the answers to your questions will be at your fingertips.

If you have the non nav radio you need the nav bezel to make it fit. You can find it on ebay. Also you will need the dash trim kit for the nav bezel. You will also need the wiring harness which depends on your stereo.

Re: After Market Radio Harness

I got the Metra wiring harness and for some reason I got occasional feedback through the speakers. I trashed it and got a wiring harness from Axcess and it has not given me a problem since. If you want your steering controls to work, you will have to get another module for that too. I think it's the pink wires. It's a good idea to get a radio with all of the features built in....cause that harness is a pain in the ass to work with. OH yeah, the Access wiring cured the "no sound" problem I was having....if the driver's door was not the last door to close when you started up the jeep it would not turn on the factory amp.
