Zeigler Extended Warranties

Looking into getting one of these but unsure as to what would suit my needs better between the Maximum Care and Added Care Plus. I don't do a whole lot of driving but do plan to keep this vehicle for a long time. I had my last car for 7 1/2 years and put 50k on it in that time. The Jeep will probably follow the same path.

My 2014 Overland currently has 6k on it. I did a quote on the Zeigler website and received the following rates:

Lifetime Maximum Care: 7 Years, 70,000 miles for $1,090
Lifetime Added Care Plus: 7 years, 70,000 miles for $765

First off, Do you guys recommend i get an extended warranty?

I'm leaning towards the added care plus but is the extra money worth it for the Maximum Care? What kind of stuff is covered on Maximum care that wouldn't on Lifetime? Will prices go up the more miles and time i put on my car or will i be able to buy the warranty at these prices until my original factory warranty expires?

Also, Is getting one of these warranties the only way i would be able to get a loaner should i go in for service? Coming from a Cadillac, it's very disappointing to read that Jeep doesn't offer courtesy loaners when you take it in for warranty work.

I'm not interested in the lifetime warranty as the price pretty much doubles from the figures i posted above.

You can see just what is covered and then make the decision that is best for you. Otherwise what you will get is those who bought it saying it's a good idea, and those who didn't saying you should save your money.

FWIW - I bought a 5 year Max because of all the electronics.

Ok, upon some research it looks like the three major areas covered under max care that are not part of the Added care Plus are the "Safety and Security", "Body" and "Manual Interior Mechanisms". The chrysler website breaks down each section as follows:

Safety and Security
  • Air Bag Clock spring
  • Air Bag Sensors
  • Door Lock Cylinders
  • Ignition Switch Lock Cylinder
  • Passenger Airbag
  • Seat Belt Assemblies
  • Trunk Emergency Release Cable And Mechanism

Manual Interior MechanismsFront Seat Manual Height Adjuster
  • Front Seat Manual Track Adjuster
  • Seat Base Riser
  • Seat Belt Shoulder Height Adjuster/Knob
  • Seat Lumbar Adjuster
  • Seat Recliner Assembly
  • Stow'n Go Seat Mechanisms
  • Swivel'n Go Seat Mechanisms

Body
  • Adjustable Cup Holder Mechanisms
  • Center Console Door, Hinge And Lock
  • Convertible Top Cylinders, Lines And Hinges
  • Convertible Top Frame, Bows And Rails
  • Door Check Straps
  • Door Glass Tracks And Channels
  • Door, Hood And Trunklid Hinges
  • Hood Latch Release Cable
  • Hood Props
  • Liftgate Props
  • Spare Tire Hanger / Carrier
  • Spare Tire Jack
  • Washer Hoses & Nozzles
  • Wiper Arm Linkage

I think the chances of needing any of these things replaced are pretty slim. I'm more concerned with the potential for something to go wrong with the air suspension, transmission, uconnect, and maybe even the pano roof. Looks like all that stuff is covered under the Added Care, so that's looking pretty attractive right now at 7 years/70,000 miles for $765.

If you hold on about 2-3 weeks you will get an email voucher for $250.00 off. Foolishly I purchased from the site the same day I got quote for Max Care. When the voucher arrived it was too late.

Do they still give you the $250 voucher now? I have waited long enough but didn't get any voucher after I use their website to send a quote to my email.

My biggest concern about the added care is whether the Uconnect computer is covered. I know many people have replaced their radios due to various problems.

you only have 6,000mi as long as you are under a year i would give it a few weeks or you call call Ziegler and ask them.

Just a thought check out geico mechanical breakdown insurance. An add on to auto insurance policy. Had it when my 2007 compass had cvt problem for $4000.00 dollars only paid $250 deductible.

If you go to the link I provided below you can see exactly what is covered.

Re: Zeigler Extended Warranties

Chester, just one comment, the MaxCare or AddedCare extended service contracts you showed prices for are not "lifetime"...they are 7 years/70K miles as listed. "Lifetime" means just that and for the MaxCare Lifetime Extended Service Contract, the rate is about $2185, give or take from Ziegler Chrysler online.

What is covered on the contracts doesn't change with the length of the term/mileage limitations including "lifetime". (caveat...loaner/rental car stops after x years) The one thing about lifetime would be "when does the lifetime end" and that seems to be when the cost to fix is unattractive relative to the ACV of the vehicle...it's not "forever".

Re: Zeigler Extended Warranties

I bought the 8/120 service contract from Zielger as the best fit for me because this is the most heavily ladened vehicle with electronics I have every owned to include a number of BMWs. The electronics cost alone if proven unreliable will more than pay for what I paid.
I did all the analysis everyway I could because I keep cars a long time like 13 years.
Unable to get lifetime because of the diesel.

By the way I know of no 250 dollar coupon. From what I can gather if you owned a Jeep before you might get one. I talked with Bob at Ziegler about lowering the cost and there was a coupon he did provide but no where near 250 bucks.

I think complete service contract if the best way to go because of your length if time 7 years 70K miles.

Bob Cline at Ziegler gave me a discount code for $50 for the asking. I bought Lifetime Max Care.

Re: Zeigler Extended Warranties

As far as I can tell, only Max Care will cover air suspension components like the compressor. If that wasn't the case, I'd consider Added Care Plus but I'll probably go with MaxCare to fully cover air suspension.
