2014 Limited Delivered

1 Attachment(s)
Took delivery of a deep cherry red Limited last Saturday. Got the dealer down to $37k, I know others on the site have gotten dealers lower but it was lowest price I could find in my area. I love it so far, such a step up from my 08 WK Laredo X, rides incredibly smooth. The only thing I notice is that I can feel it downshift when I brake which feels somewhat jerky. The build date was 10-13, so I asked the dealer to update the transmission per the current TSB. Is there anywhat I can check to see if the dealer actually did it? I trust them but I like to be thorough.

Congratulations on the new Jeep. That's a good price my Limited was $37,300 OTD, only upgrade is the nav. (09/13 build) My transmission also jerks forward when braking just before coming to a stop. After putting 3k miles seems it's gotten a bit better. Someone here claimed the computer adjusts to your driving habits? I am going to inquire about transmission updates when I bring it in for my first oil change. Hopefully someone can answer your question. Enjoy your new Jeep (I love mine)

Looks just like mine. Congrats.

I can sense mine downshifting when I brake, but it's never jerky. Even before 2 prior updates it never jerked.

Could be still learning which can take a good while.

Before the last update. If I was say traveling around 35-40mph in 6th-7th and say I wanted to MILDLY speed up. Expecting it might drop to 4th or 5th with a target of say 45 mph. It frequently wouldn't. This drove me nuts. If I kept pressing the gas pedal to get it to down shift it would eventually downshift. But not until the pedal was like 3/4 down it would downshift into 2nd-3rd and take off like a rocket. Now, with latest update "REVC", the slightest acceleration it downshifts, just 1 gear, as you'd expect, immediately every time, no matter what speed I'm at. Very smooth.

I don't know of any way to tell for sure other than, them hooking it up to computer.

Congrats. Nice jeep. Guessing the dealer had it delivered from another deal and not from factory since the build date is 10/13?

Thanks for the info everyone, I'll let the Jeep "break in" a bit to see if anything changes. Not sure if it was a dealer swap, when I went into the dealer it was in the showroom and the only one in that color/ configuration and price point I could find so I bit. I was a little concerned about it sitting in the showroom but so far I love it and really have no complaints.

Congrats to all on your new Limiteds! Mine is a very early build; 2/13 - haven't had any problems at all that haven't been rectified via TSB and/or Uconnect updates. Runs great; gets 21-22 mph highway (with V8); very quiet and comfortable on the road! Before going back to your dealer, check here for any TSBs applicable to your ride and make sure they perform each: Jeep Grand Cherokee WK2 - Grand Cherokee Service Bulletins and Recalls. You can also drop by any Chrysler dealership and just have them input your VIN into their computer system - that will tell them (and you) every applicable recall and TSB that needs to be performed on your vehicle.

Thanks! It's good to know that after a year, you haven't had any problems, I'll be taking it to another dealer within the next couple of weeks to make sure all the latest TSBs were done. Thanks again!

That's a beautiful Jeep! My wife and I will be ordering ours in the next couple of days, same color with a beige interior. Is that a sunroof on it? We're torn between getting a power sunroof or not. Is it worth the extra $900? I'm trying to talk her into ORA-I, even though realistically we don't need it. If anyone wants to chime in on features they got and regret not getting certain features that would be helpful as well (not to hijack this thread or anything). We'll be ordering a 4x4 limited with the 8.4, and tow hitch. Anything else? Thanks guys!

I didn't get the sunroof on mine and have never regretted it. Wife has had one on last two cars she's driven; never used it in either one of them and didn't like the additional glare and heat on my bald head so I kept the cover on them all the time. Plus, no chance of wind noise; leaks; etc. in the cabin when you have a solid roof. To each his or her own, however! I got the ORA II package on mine, which comes with the tow package and the top-of-the line 4WD system - which I love. Be sure to get the RA4 system with nav; costs additional $$ to add nav later on to the regular RA3. You looking at V6 or V8 engine? V6 is very strong, but after the TSB update on my V8 it truly drives great! (Yours will come the factory with all latest software loaded on it; shouldn't need any TSBs done.) Wouldn't change anything about mine, except for getting an SRT if they sold for the same price as the Limited. :D

I regret not getting the Collision Avoidance. But on a Base Limited it adds quite a bit to the price tag. I did not want a sunroof.

Based on *SOME* problems reported with sunroofs and collision avoidance/acc problems posted I'm not too disappointed though.

Definitely get the 8.4AN Radio. It's a bargain for what you get over 8.4A. Mainly a backup camera.

Tow package is a bargain too, even if you don't tow.
