other solution rather than CUTTING ?? Borla ATAK

you know that GT Haus is the best but not in price

600 bucks compared to 3600 is way different.

so to cross it out with out losing the enjoyment of great exhaust sound. i decided to save for GT Haus and purchase Borla ATAK and use it temporary.

but the thing i hate about Borla is CUTTING :mad:

i love stuff that is Bolt-on rather than cutting or any kind of custom modification

what would you suggest me guys ??

The GTHaus exhaust price is asinine, regardless. Exhausts for some of the highest performing cars are less than that. Sure it looks pretty, but who ever sees it? Wouldn't even consider it if I was a millionaire.

Get the Borla and just cut the stocker, accept it is the exhaust that will be with the car for the remainder of ownership and when you trade it in.

Even though you cut the stock exhaust....it's s simple weld to put the stock exhaust back on. I did that when I traded my 13 for my 14.

Re: other solution rather than CUTTING ?? Borla ATAK

I am about to get a Borla S-Type installed, so same deal as the Atak, meaning I'll have to butcher my stock exhaust.

GTHaus is a great exhaust, but I am convinced I would have used the open mode once every blue moon, and would have been worried about being caught by the plod everytime I go past 2500 RPM in closed mode... The price difference sealed the decision.

Anyway, back to the issue of cutting the stock pipes: I will most likely need to re-install the stock exhaust for DMV inspections, once after 4 years for a new vehicle, then every 2 years, so I ordered stainless steel clamps like this:
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/VPE-1176
From what I could google on various forums, they make a good connection between same diameter tubes, without crushing the pipes, and they hold well over time, even though in my case it will be a Borla-off / Inspection / Borla-back-on every time, so I don't even need something that holds for that long.

I hope this helps.

Ahhhhh HELLOOOOOO!!!! CORSA CATBACK my friends. $1600 BOLT-ON Need I say more.

I think it has been discussed here in great detail that Corsa might be the ugliest exhaust. Outlets to small and it doesn't sit flush with the exhaust cutouts.
