MY14 Overland door sill guards standard?

Hi guys. This is my first time posting. I am currently a week away from delivery of my MY14 Overland and am trying to decide on which accesories to get. I have decided on the chrome tubular side steps, cargo mat and chrome pedal kit but am trying to decide on the sill guards.

The jeep accessories brochure shows 2 options - "door sill guards" or "illuminated door sill guards". I understand that the "illuminated door sill guards" are the thin chrome pieces on the plastic trim with the Jeep lilluminated. The photo of the "door sill guards" shows both the large chrome piece with Grand Cherokee on it (which I am assuming is this accessory) however it also still shows the thin chrome jeep guard. Is the thin chrome jeep guard standard but just not illuminated with the only options to REPLACE it with the illuminated ones or to ADD the grand cherokee guard? This might be a stupid question but I can't remember whether the overland had any chrome as standard in the door sills.

Yes they are standard.

First off, please stop saying "chrome"...none of those Jeep accessories are chrome plated, it's all brushed steel...the pedals are stainless steel.

As for your question, yes the no-name brushed metal inserts on the plastic door sills are stock, and the optional illuminated "Jeep" inserts simply replace them (you also have to hook them up to a power source). There is also another Jeep door sill option, the "Grand Cherokee" stick-on brushed metal protection plates that are applied on the painted part of the door sill in front of the metal insert plastic door sills.

Also keep in mind that for the stainless steel pedals, the brake pad is the most difficult to install of the two pedals. I was able to install mine by boiling in water for 5 minutes (to make the rubber back soft), lubing the pedal itself with dish washing soap, and using a work glove (so as not to burn my hand), starting from the bottom...pushing the pedal cover on...then prying the top lip on back with a small screw driver. NOT an easy job!

Thanks for the information GCLimited. I have ordered the pedal covers and the illuminated door sill. I like the GC sill cover but have also ordered the rock rails and think that the sill covers may not work with the rock rails. Yours is looking GOOD.

I don't see why not.

Thank you, but that first picture I stole from the internet. I don't have those stick-on door sill covers because I don't think they're worth the cost. The sill covers for the rear doors are a joke because of their size. I currently have just the illuminated "Jeep" door sill inserts on my Overland.

I have just ordered the illuminated sills for now. I not sure I would want both even if they do fit. I will cover the painted area in XPEL Ultimate though.
