Train Horn

I just bought a 2014 Overland, and want to install a train horn. Has anyone done this? If so, where did you place the horns and compressor?

Re: Train Horn

I'm not sure what you mean by "train horn", but I used to build locomotives for General Electric, and if you're thinking of installing a horn from a diesel locomotive, I think you're going way beyond overkill. That could actually be quite dangerous. On the other hand, if it's just a much quieter replica of a train horn, that would be cool. Not sure how you'd go about it though. (By the way, your name isn't John, is it?)

They are illegal in a lot of places, might want to check where you live.

I have one on my 05 wk. I replaces the spare tire with it as a result of my spare being too large to fit. Compressor is in the trunk bolted on my sub box

I'd get in my car and follow that guy home. Seriously.

I have a train horn mounted under my lifted Powerstroke Excursion. Nothing moves slow drivers out of the left lane faster than a quick blast on the horn. Its on a separate button on the dash. :)

Re: Train Horn

Do you really want a train horn or just an air horn.

If you want the real deal look up Nathan air chime.

Re: Train Horn

IMO a train horn is a little excessive. My buddy has a whole PA system and air horns in his truck. The air horns are pretty loud but not as loud as the train horns. I think the air horns will get the job done without pissing people off.
