Horsepower wars will continue...

Let's hope the SRT team is able to maintain its funding within Fiat/Chyrsler to continue to invest in new product development to keep up...

At the end of the day though... two different buyers. In my opinion anyway.

RR are nice vehicles, no question.. but they somewhat appeal to the see and be seen crowd versus the I want my dollar to go far crowd. RR's are beautiful but their reliability record in 5-10 years is unfortunate. Where as Jeeps, are, well, Jeeps. They keep going.

Yes, interior and quality wise, the RR has us beat usually, and yes, the RR is also very capable off road where as our SRT's are not but you def. pay for that and again, what good is your investment if it costs you thousands to maintain/fix in a few years?

I think SRT will always hold it's own, and I think we can surpass the supercharged 510 in the LR in the process. There will most likely not be a Hellcat variation for the WK3 unfortunately, but there is something else coming for 2017.

LR should step it up, they have no choice. Now, where's that Porsche we're hunting?

Current reliability and dependability of GCs is nothing to write home about. 2013 and 2014 Range Rover and 2014 Range Rover Sport have made significant strides in both reliability and dependability while the Jeep GC is becoming less reliable with more issues. Range Rover Sport V8 Supercharged can go as far off the pavement as any Defender or Wrangler shame the the same cant be said for the 2014 GC SRT 8. 1993 Defender 110 restored and repowered with diesels are selling for over $200K. GC SRT8 needs a modern engine and some offroad capability to compete.

I have about two dozen friends and fellow herding trialers who have 2013 and 2014 Range Rovers and they have been trouble free.

Blah blah blah

I have a 50400 jeep friends here who haven't had a single problem.....sheep boy

And I hope your joking when u say the RR sport can go anywhere a wrangler can go. Give it up already....that's a laugher.

Re: Horsepower wars will continue...

I have read a ton of reviews and watched a ton of video reviews on various vehicles. After weighing up all the pros & cons the results of my research keeps pointing me back toward the Jeep. And that research is what has brought me here to this wonderful Jeep site.

Although it is somewhat important, I'm not too concerned about the Horsepower Wars. The bottom line is if I see a Jeep SRT next to a Range Rover Sport in the parking lot, I won't give the RR a second look.

Now SRT or Overland?, SRT or Overland?, SRT or Overland?

LOL.

The tip of the iceberg:

"Well let me chime in. My car died yesterday. I had to give it a jump (5 mins) then took the truck home & died again!! Taking it to the dealership today. Pray for me."

" I have a major problem with my new 2013 Range Rover Turbo with the air bag error light staying illuminated. The dealer has had it several different times for days claiming they were on the phone with LR tech."

"Malfunctioning front radar caused whole blind spot system to deactivate. Turned out to front sense was pointing downward some 2-3 degrees only."

"Panoramic roof curtain derailed and had to be realigned."

"I've had my 2013 TDV8 for a month now. Has anyone had any suspension knocking?"

"Plumes of black smoke chucking out the back when accelerating fast (fixed but never told cause)"

"Coolant Leak (new radiator) (Fixed)"

"Paintwork as boot scraped due to misalignment (fixed)"

"Airbag warning light always on (fixed)"

"Very creaky seatbelts (fixed)"

"Lacquer on plastic bodywork parts was soft and so scratched when cleaning."

"Middle rear seatbelt digs in to even the slimmest passenger."

"Gearbox revs high when pulling away."

"2013 HSE, 6000 miles was trouble free until we noticed coolant splattered around the engine compartment and low coolant. Dealer found the radiator to be defective, it was leaking across the top seam."

"driver side camera stopped operating (blue screen)"

you know Milous was using quotes in his post right, we all know it's not a truck. That said, I prefer the srt over pretty much any performance suv out there
