Side View Mirror

Hey There,

On my 2014 Jeep GC Summit, the driver side view mirror rattles when the music plays (because of the base in music). I can see wires behind the mirror, which are not present when I compare it to the passenger side mirror. I am thinking that there is probably a plastic housing or connector that is rattling against the mirror casing, but I cannot get to it to look.

Does anybody know if there is an easy way to get behind the mirror? Maybe it pops out? Pictures or a quick video would be great too!

Thanks all!

That just means you have the music loud enough!

I laugh because the first time I cranked up a good tune, I looked in one of the mirrors and saw it vibrating. Puzzled me at first until I realized it was from the subwoofer. Then I laughed. Now that's my standing joke.

How do you know the music is loud enough?
Your mirrors are vibrating!

Ive had this same problem with my 2014 Grand Cherokee Summit since I purchased it over a year and a half ago. The rattle in the driver side view mirror is extremely bad and its something I want to take care of at this point in time. I get excessive rattling and the bass isn't even bumping too loud.

I see the instructions on removing and taking the mirror apart but did you figure out what is causing the issue internally to cause this rattle? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Also, would anybody recommend me taking this to a mechanic and having the maybe fix this problem? Thanks

No rattle for me luckily, but i too can see wires from the passenger mirror. Dont recall being visible prior to some prick in a harley hitting my passenger mirror. Mirror did not break, only the black housing and the chrome cover is a bit chipped. Now that i have seen the instructions above i can buy the chrome cover off of justforjeeps.com but am wonder if they sell the black housing(plastic piece that surrounds mirror)

My guess possibly something is loose, maybe not tighten properly. Personally, i would tackle this myself because instructions are detailed. I wouldn't waste money on mechanic. But that's just me. Patience would be key.

I have a 2014 Overland, I have a rattle with the music turned up. Mine was the housing the blinker is in on the mirror. Just lightly tap on it and you could here the rattle.

Did you fix this issue and if so, what was the best solution for muffling this noise to stop it all together? Could I just put some foam between these parts to keep it from moving around?
