ORAII skid plates
After reading about the CV Boot leaks I went out and checked mine even though mine is a 2/14 build date.
They all appeared to be fine. However, here is a "head's up" for those with factory ORAII installations.
I remembered reading about another forum member that had his front skid plate drop down while he was driving and so decided to check all the skid plate attachments while I was under the Jeep.
This all done as we are about to set out on a 4k road trip to some National parks. I went around and banged on each plate and discovered that three of the 4 13mm front engine skid plate attachment bolts were not tight and one was actually hanging on by about 4 threads!
It was noticeably loose as it made a metallic clang when I was going around and banging my fist on it. I then cinched them all up but, of course, I didn't have the torque settings but they are pretty tight now.
All the other skid plates were on very tight.
While I was under, I also noticed some wiring loom clips were not attached at the rear and that parts of the loom near the middle of the car were exposed and near sharp edges of metallic plates. I reattached the clips and I also put plastic loom covering over those exposed parts.
Other than that, it was pretty darn good  !
