looking for better steering

Is there a way to make the steering feel stiffer and respond better. I do not have the death wobble. The steering is good but it feels it could be better some how with better parts. thanks

Check all the steering rod ends and the track bar bushings for play. It can be that there is some play on the steering gearbox. Eventhough there is a possibility for adjustment on the top side of the gearbox, if you fasten it too much, it will negatively influence the return to neutral.

Re: looking for better steering

I have done some basic things to my WJ and still thing the steering is a bit loose. My reading lead me to change factory steering stabilizer to a Moog TrailBoss and shocks to Bilsteins. The improved handling and steering a fair amount before upgrading tires. I still think wear in other suspension parts contributes to the loose steering. I want/need to replace the spring isolators and install Upcountry springs but that will have to wait. Have you checked the steering stabilizer and shocks?

Bad control arm bushings can cause poor steering response/feel. Bad ball joints can as well.
