To super charge or not ?

Is supercharging a good idea or not. Too much torque on engine (3.8 liter) and auto teams and, well everything else is stock !

Look at sts turbos. They have kits for 3.8l engines. If tue supercharger fails while driving its a call for a tow truck. If a turbo fails you can still drive but wont have the power from the turbo.

Thank you very much. I believe you have a good suggestion. I will look into turbos instead !

Hello, We've sold over 3500 kits for the Jeep Wrangler JK - and reliability has always been our main objective... The notion that a Turbo is safer than a supercharger couldn't be further from the truth. In fact, is a turbo were to fail you're less likely to be-able to drive is if at all.

A supercharger is belt driven, should the compressor fail (which is not likely) you simply remove the belt and install the stock one. Or should you have to remove it all together, you can still run it normally. A turbo is very complex and much more intrusive. In fact is shares oiling with the engine, if the turbo were to fail, bits of metal can (and will) run through your engine and could cause irreversible failure.

Below is a video walk around of the 3.6L Wrangler - however the system installs about the same.

Thanks for all the info. I might have missed it but how much to purchase and how much to install. I have mechanical background, but my patience is thinner as I get older. Is there a list of reputable facilities to install ! Thanks
