Off Road Mods

This may seem to be a weird request but I am looking for some mods so I can take my SRT off road. Not rock climbing or mudding but on Colorado dirt roads that do get rough some times. So far, I have determined I need different wheels (20x10) so I can get an all terrain tires instead of the Pirellas all season that come on it. Guess the issue on the wheels are the huge Brembo calipers. The other issue is the front air dam. It is too low and sure it would be destroyed at some point. Does anyone have any suggestions that would help on these issues. I realize now I should have bought an Overland or Summit to be more in line with my off road desires but most of my driving is on road and not an issue... Any help would be appreciated...
thanks

Trade it in. That's it. Seriously.

Initially, I was looking towards doing the same thing. Maybe lifting it a few inches, enuf to fit some nice AT's under there and have enough clearance to drive over anything higher than 4". We get a lot of snow here and the powers that be in Montreal have figured that it's cheaper to not plow the snow after every snow storm if another is coming in the next week. Makes finding parking at work very challenging.

With my FJ, clawing my way to the top of a frozen-over snowy hill made my day. With this thing, I'm always worried I'll rip the spoiler off.

I think your idea is awesome, especially if you can lift her a bit.

Best of both worlds; 470 horseys and actual Jeep worthiness

SRT did better than I thought when I went out to the Grand Canyon...

Sadly this^ is about the only real answer.

The SRT is a BEAST On Road. But it is also the ONLY Jeep and can't actually go Off Road (without the risk of serious damage & a lot of luck).

No off-roading for you bud. It'll be like trying to take a corolla off road. No ground clearance no 4wd lo, stiff suspension, it's just not setup for it. I wanted something that was offroad worthy but could still kick ass on road. So I bought a 5.7 loaded and dropped a 6.4 in it and lifted it two inches. It's a beast!!!

Sadly, the only other option is...

Buy another brand of SUV that does combine awesome On Road along with Off Road ability. And in that category the only options are:

Porsche Cayenne Turbo/Turbo S

Range Rover Sport

Who said SRT's don't go off road ? :p

It's not a land cruiser, but it did good in sand dunes ... Took me to our camp in the Saudi Desert with no problems... All that with towing a Raptor :D

While "sand" is technically Off Road, there are lots of CARS that can do the same thing that SRT did.

SRT Stands for Street and Racing Technology.

Off road tires on a vehicle that can do 165 MPH? It truly is an odd question. Honestly, this group of the forum will be incredibly biased toward power and speed. Then again, isn't that why we bought the SRT?

Its not impossible.

The Porsche Cayenne can do 175MPH & the Range Rover Sport tops out at 155MPH. Both can also handle Off Road terrain challenges. And while their stock tires suck for all but light off road work, its a whole lot easier to change tires then it is to somehow add off road ability to a vehicle that has almost none.

Didn't say it was, just think you would have done better with a 5.7 overland or trailhawk. At any rate it's yours, and you already know what you want to do. There will be few, if any, people here that have done what you want to do. You will probably get better info in the normal WK2 forum...
