WK2 QL with 275/65/18 and 0 offset Rockstar II wheels

Gentlemen,

I spent a long time lurking and googling trying to determine whether this setup would work and not really finding the answers. Well, I now have some answers for anyone considering this setup.

Wheels are KMC Rockstar II's - 18x9 with 0 offset (5" backspacing).
Tires are Goodyear Wrangler Territory (Canadian exclusive - similar to the Duratrac) in 275/65/18.

There are several guys running 2.5" RRO lifts and 0 or negative offset wheels with few issues on a 32" tires; Big50 is one that comes up often. Common setup appears to be the Procomp wheels with the same offset and tire size. I couldn't find anyone else with a QL running a 32" tire and 0 offset, where many are running 32" tires with factory wheels or close to factory offset without rubbing.

Bolted the wheels on and loved the "Stuffed look".. when turning the wheels kissed the front fender plastic as well as the pinch seam in the rear of the front wheel wells.

Solution: Bent the pinch seam over with a hammer, sprayed it with paint the cut a small slit in the fender liner felt and glued the molded hump in the fender liner flat to the wheel well metal. Removed the plastic fender flares, cut about an inch off the plastic fender as well as the fender flare to provide a little more room. Could use some sanding to make the cutting more subtle.

Love the result, perfect offset, no rubbing anymore even in park. Slight cosmetic change that I wasn't super excited about going through with.

Here's some pics for those researching offsets and tire sizes!

I personally would've gone with the correct offset to avoid hacking the fender flares. There are plenty of guys on here running that size tire that didn't have to butcher their fenders.

Do you have the center caps on order?

Are all those pics taken in the lowest QL setting?
Whereabouts in Canada are you? guessing AB because no front plate

Bit of a flair for the dramatic around these parts! Hacking and butchering all over this vehicle?!

Yes there are a few with this tire size and no modification necessary, there's also a tonne of people that kept their tire size stock without modifications. I did not want the stock look, I wanted "poke", thus I went with 0 offset.. by choice, just like other guys that could also have tucked their wheels into factory offset positions but chose not to.

Center caps came with the wheels... need to re-torque in a few km's then I'll stick em on. Unless I pull out a grinder again and "hack and butcher" those center caps up!

Bingo! Calgary is home and they were all taken in "park" height. Below is ORII.

Wicked, what does "upgraded HVAC" entail in your sig?

That looks better:)
Shouldn't call it upgraded hvac, I put in the auto hvac controls from a summit/overland

It 'looks' good in the higher height, but what happens on the hwy or just driving around and you hit a big dip or something. Your not going to be in ora1/2. I now cruising height is higher than park but isn't it gonna be really tight.

Nice cheney, your truck looks tough. I bet those rims and tires are heavy as hell though.

Your jeep looks awesome. I love the look. I was also looking at the 18x9 KMC Rockstars 1 and 2 in matte black and I wanted to see how they would look on the WK2, but I couldn't find any pictures until I saw your post. Im still debating on the two. And just like you, I couldn't find any post about about 0mm offset with the QL. So thank you for sharing your experience and pictures. Have you experienced any rubbing or other issues when riding at normal ride height or aero mode? How about going over bumps or dips?

Thanks man. So I've had them on for a few months now.. I'll post more pics with the center caps on.

When you get going at highway speed and you enter into Aerodynamic mode, it lowers the vehicle just enough that when you hit a HUGE dip, you get a quick rub.. that's only happened at one spot in my city. Otherwise, at regular height full lock to lock turning there's no issues, speed bumps and pot holes there are no issues, every now and then I hit a bump that gives a quick rub... but pretty much clear of rubbing 99% of the time.

I would definitely do this setup again, as I like the "LCOG", fat "bulldog" squatty look the truck now has. Remember you do have to trim the fenders a bit, some people don't like that.

If I put it into park height and do full turn, there is no rubbing, but if you hit a bump while turning at park height you would certainly rub. I can get some gopro video footage if you guys are interested.

Thanks I really appreciate the feedback. What ride height were the last couple pics taken at?
