afe cold air intake

Has anyone purchased and installed one yet? I just ordered one and curious if there is a noticeable sound change with the unit and the turbo? I told myself I was going to wait for more competitors to hit the market but im quite impatient I guess

Correct. Modest advertised power gains. I was just hoping for improved sound. http://afepower.com/shop/details_new...rtno=54-12472&

Thanks

I didn't think there were any performance parts out yet

I've had the afe intake on another vehicle and always like the quality

Consider this one sold.

This has been the cheapest one I've found so far

Did you buy direct from AFE?

Have you tried ebay? Some US sellers do ship overseas.

No joy unfortunately, nothing on eBay for our eco's yet. Perhaps a couple of months.

I looked at the picture of the AFE. Is it an airbox or an open conical filter with a pipe and heat shield? I can build one, just like I did for my Powerstroke, from off the shelf items if that's all it is. If there is room under the hood for a larger filter, mine might even flow better. What am I missing?

It's a stage two so that means intake pipe, heat shield and filter. Sure someone can make one, but it's not worth the time and hassle for me to try. Done it in the past. Trying to source parts and fooling with the MAF sensor, and obtaining a mandrel pipe, after paying $50-$60 for an aftermarket filter anyways..I'll just give them the extra $200. It looks better than anything I've ever made. :)
