Any Way To Fix Cracked Leather Seat

My wife took her 07 Commander Limited in to the dealer earlier this week for an oil change. Her Jeep just hit 30k miles. When she got home, I went out to look things over and immediately noticed a huge crack in her leather driver's seat that wasn't there when she took it in. I call up the dealership and they ask me to bring it back out there. They've already got some BS story made up before I even get there about "Wear and Tear." They take some pictures and say they'll try to get Chrysler to pay for it under warranty. A few minutes later they say, "Looks like your factory warranty expired March 2." I tell them that Chrysler shouldn't have to pay for it because the dealer's service tech obviously did it. They're like "We talked to him and he said he didn't have anything in his pockets when he was in the vehicle." I'm sure that Chrysler nor the dealership is going to have it fixed. Is there any way to repair cracked leather. thanks

Ill tell you what to do. Wait until maybe this weekend when the showroom is packed with potential customers or as packed as it gets in this economy. then start screaming at the top of your lungs acbout what a bad dealership it is and see how fast they take care of you and fix the problem LOL worked for me. Good Luck

My 07 GC leather did the same thing. Looks similar to your cracking. It's in the drivers seat on the upper leather. No where near to close where my butt sits. I haven't brought it to the dealership yet.

Mine is cracked too; there's no way to repair leather cracks; have to get the whole seat redone.

I have had dealers replace 2 bottom seat covers on leather seats under warranty and I have replaced 1 myself on different vehicles I have had over the years. I think they are just about 100 bucks for the cover...

I have the same exact cracking as the OP and Skinny, I've got an 07 too. I'm looking into a seat cover anyway, they are just so expensive.

How long are the seats covered under warranty? I don't even sit where mine is cracking. I'm about 6'1 and weigh 145lbs soak and weight so it isn't a weight problem :p

I'll also have to check with my extended warantee; mine are the top end Overland seats with leather and suede, and the leather is cracked on the left side seat botom.

An option is to upgrade to Katzkin seats. They are an OEM manufacturer for Jeep too. Check out their site if you're interested in going that route.

If you look at this picture mine's cracking a little over the power seat buttons... I also have a weird issue with the back of the seat... I'll have to get a picture of that tomorrow when it's not dark out...
