2014 Grand Cherokee AC is yours cold?

So now that we are getting into some 90+ degree weather, here is a question for 2014 GC owners. Does your AC feel cold on 90+ degree days? Mine is cool but seems to take a very long time to bring the cabin temp down even a little. I have not got out the thermometer yet to check vent temps but I can tell it is no where near as cold as past vehicles that cooled the cabins off quickly in similar temps. Has anyone had their 2014 AC checked/charged? if so was it low? or is this just the way it is? If so guess it is just something to live with.

My 2014 definitely doesn't get as cold as my previous 2012 did. I don't know what they changed but I'm sure it was done to cut costs.

Yeah agree bob, I was just trying to figure out if maybe us early builds didn't get a full charge put on them at the factory or if this is just how it is. I got out of my friends MDX the other day and wow that thing pumps the cold air and then into mine that was kinda soso cool and im thinking what is wrong here.

Hey Silvermax, did you have the "hot cabin" issue that some folks on here had? Just curious if this could be another symptom of that issue, where the a/c just won't get cold enough.

Does anyone who had the "hot cabin" issue and has gotten it fixed with the TSB for the s/w update, have this issue that silvermax is having?

I have the hot cabin issue but have not been in to get the TSB yet and not sure they will do it as I am out of the date range stated by the TSB but I am going to try. I am not sure but I would guess the week ac is not related. what it feels like to me is an ac system that is undercharged, everything appears to be running correctly just not pumping out very cold air. not sure if it is an issue or just a system that is designed for borderline operation to save money somewhere like bob said.

Today was close to 90 on my way home. While driving down the highway, I started to think to myself that I should get the hot cabin TSB done as mine was not cooling well and thought it may be related. I agree it just doesn't pump out cold enough, all the time.
11/22/13 build date.

I see...I haven't tested my JGC for the hot cabin issue or this a/c issue yet, I just got it back this past Monday, for the two axle replacement. And its just been sittin pretty in my garage. lol. I'm not driving it anywhere until I get it protected with 3M Ventureshield paint protection film. lol! But when I do get a chance to test mine out, I'll update the thread with my results. Good luck in the meantime!

TypeRod we are getting into weather that it will be hard to see the hot cabin issue as much. it really shows itself in the cold temperatures like around the 20s. the colder it got the worse it seemed or that was my experience anyway. still you maybe able to notice the kinda weird HVAC operation in the summer months also. it just doesn't jump out at you as badly to make you think what is going on here like in the winter. maybe they got yours all squared away since it is a new build though. hope all is well with it

ok so much for the thought it was an early build thing lol, march 2013 build here. would be great if it turns out that the hot cabin tsb fixes the weak ac also. not sure that it will but we can hope.

Def!
The only reason I thought they MAY be related was b/c the temp today fluctuated inside my cabin even though I hadn't touched the controls. (Like the hot cabin, it would spike up and down)

As I'm typing this, I thought about something, didn't I see in the TSB that the climate control had to be on auto for the situation to occur??? I manually set my AC today to 'LO'

I also want to point out I experienced this today even tho the truck was in a parking garage for 8hrs.

We've had 80's and even 90's down here in South Florida and my 2014 GC A/C runs cold. The ventilated seats don't seem as noticeable as in my 2011 though.

yeah I had mine on auto and then I turned auto off and just tried to force it down as low as it would go but it didn't make any difference
