Regen at low speeds info

1 Attachment(s)
Just wanted to throw this out there since its been talked about in several posts.

My 2014 (2/14 build and flash 18-018-14 Rev A done) NA version has done 2 regens (that I know of) since new. Both were started and finished while at city driving speeds under 35 mph. The first one displayed the below message while city driving and my wife had to park, so she left it running in the school parking lot. When she returned, there was no message on the screen.

The second time (couple weeks later) the same message came up and upon completion the screen flashed a message saying it was done (quick enough she couldnt get a pic). On both occasions she was driving from her office to school in city/suburban driving with less than 10 miles in between. Next time it happens I will note the mileage and calculate backwards to determine how often it occurs with strictly city mileage.

Thanks for posting the picture. I have driving 15k miles and never seen that message although mine has regened probably 50 times or more. Regen occurs at least once every 300 miles or less. Under normal driving, there is no indication. Keep us posted on how operating with DPF warnings works out.

So what happens if you park and shut off the truck before the message goes off?

My guess based on reading what happened to others who got the message and ignored it, is that eventually the EVIC shows "DPF Full" followed by limp mode and a slow drive to the dealer is next. Keep in mind that the vehicle has been trying to regen without notification prior to the first EVIC warnings. The DPF is already close to full when you get the first warnings....so you don't want to put off letting it regen.

City only driving would be the only reason to experience this. I haven't seen a DPF message in 15k miles.

Do you know what version of the above-referenced flash software you have? For comparison purposes.

How would I find this info? I have an all original 9/13 build.

I haven't heard of anyone with NAFTA builds that gets a DPF message when operating in mixed city/hwy driving. So far, the only owners seeing the message are those who don't drive at regen speeds and distances often enough and their DPF fills to critical point.

I think it would be nice to have a regen icon on the EVIC just to see when its happening.

This is for revision B, I dont have a copy of revision A, the original was for MIL lights. If anyone can provide a copy of revision A, I would appreciate it. They did this TSB when I had it in for the injector replacement.
