Disabling the tilt sensor

I have a 2011 (2012 model) WK2 Grand Cherokee 3.0 CRD Overland, and it is fitted with an anti tow away tilt sensor as part of the alarm/security system.
I will be going on a ferry and cannot find any mention in the handbook of how to disable the tilt sensor, should the ferry crossing get rough enough to set the alarm off. I have spoken to a couple of Jeep main agents who have not come up with any answers.
Any suggestions would be most welcome.

It could be by removing the fuse or relay. I'm not sure but You can check the fuse drawings for your car.

Re: Disabling the tilt sensor

Is it the kind of ferry where you can leave the car unlocked as that would disable the sensor, and alarm of course.

EDIT, as you already stated, the sensor is to stop it being towed, therefore you would need a very large swell on the water to set it off.

Re: Disabling the tilt sensor

Thanks for your replies. On every car I have previously owned it has been possible to turn off the tilt and passive sensor electrically by blipping the remote a couple of times or whatever. Although the crossing, in this case Portsmouth to St.Malo, is usually fairly smooth, the ferry company are always at pains to ensure that the tilt sensor is switched off, as it is a twelve hour crossing, and I have on occasions heard other people's alarms operating. It looks like Chrysler Jeep have, in their infinite wisdom, forgotten to provide any normal means to disable the alarm. Isn't it a pity that someone from Chrysler Jeep doesn't appear to peruse these forums. Many of the comments are repetitive and common and I think they would make a better car if they did. Perhaps they do read these forums but just can't be bothered.
