New 200

This is not jeep related, but I was at the dealer a couple days ago and they had a new 2015 200c on the lot. All I can say is wow is that a nice car, looks like I know what I will be replacing the Ford Fusion I have with. I looked over it real close and the fit and finish were excellent and it looks a hell of alot better than the new Fusion.

Re: New 200

I have a 2005 Subaru Legacy GT with Mitsubishi EVO (turbo) and Subaru STI (transmission) power train bits. It is starting to show its age though it will put most cars in their place, still. Sadly, there seems to not be a Subaru in my future. I like the STI but I got spoiled by the Jeep in terms of creature comforts, the seats, the navi, the adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring etc. I can get that on a Subaru but with an aweful normally aspirated engine and sad CVT transmission. As such, the new 200 is the leading American contender for a replacement, followed by the Buick Regal GS, and the Fusion.

I don't necessarily want another manual transmission car, but if it is an automatic, I would rather have a sporty DSG or the Jeep 8 speed tranny. Probably the 9 speed is not far behind, but it is almost too many gears to be a sporty car. I will have to drive it and then make a determination. I am also looking at the Audi S4 and the Infiniti Q50 but those are another 10-15,000 on top of the american choices - maybe I find a gently used CPO.

I"ll have to take a look the next time I'm at a Chrysler/Jeep dealer.

As for the Infinity Q50, if I was ever in the market for a car I would take a serious look at getting one of those.

It looks to be a another great product. I would like to test drive the AWD V6 S model.

Re: New 200

Compared to the last version of the 200, hopefully this latest iteration isn't just lipstick on a pig. Unfortunately for me I've had the bad luck to drive a couple 200's last year, and if the new one is anything like those, Chrysler has not learned anything.

Hate to say it, but when it comes to Chrysler's reliablity record of their new versions, if I were in the market for a vehicle like this (I hope I never am BTW :D), I'd pick the Camry or an Accord over the new 200 anyday of the week.

Re: New 200

The new 200 only shares the 3.6L and an assembly shop with the old one. That's about it.
Maybe a few screws here and there.

Definitely smitten with the new 200. I hope a convertible is in the works. Every review I've seen on YouTube has been overwhelmingly positive.

I test drove a 200C today and was really impressed. I ended up ordering a 200c in Granite with the pentastar.

Re: New 200

I test drove a 200C the other day. There was a horribly loud leak in the exhaust. It sounded like a Honda Civic with a fart pipe. And the transmission was frantically hunting for the right gear...and I mean frantically. It was pretty ridiculous.

Other than these two things (both were hopefully a fluke) the rest of the car was very nice.

I drove a V-6 and the transmission was not hunting at all. I was actually impressed with the performance of the trans.

They are quite nice. I know the magazines loathed the previous model. However, I've never seen a test of the Super S package. I love my '13.5 Special Edition (Super S + Carhartt). I've had it 2 months. The Pentastar runs very strong in a car this size.
