Windshield fluid piping

1 Attachment(s)
It seems the passenger side of my 2012 GC windshield wiper spray has disconnected and broken under the hood. I would assume this is covered under warranty? If not how much would this cost to fix?

I don't know the price of the parts, but if you're out of warranty and can do it yourself, that would be the cheapest route. That washer nozzle seems to pop out from the hood, I think you have to squeeze some tabs and push it out, but be careful not to be too forceful pushing it out, you may create an outward dent on the hood, the metal where the washer nozzles are put in is very thin and flimsy. Then just pop in the new nozzle and looks like you'll have to remove the broken piece from the tubing, then just pop on the new tubing and youre done. Good luck!

EDIT: If I had to guess a price assuming dealer mark up to be high, anywhere from 5-20 dollars for the new nozzle?

This is a fairly common problem from what I understand from following these forums. The plastic stem on the windshield washer nozzles crumble, probably due to engine heat. I changed one last Saturday. It is a fairly simple repair which you can do yourself. I basically used a pair of pliers to break off the remaining piece of the stem beneath the hood to make for a quick removal of the nozzle. The replacement nozzle cost $30 CAD, I believe it is $22 USD. I have 2011 Laredo X which is past warranty. The new nozzle snapped in easily and I simply reconnected the windshield washer line. It was necessary to remove a broken piece of the old nozzle from the line. This was achieved by squeezing it with a pair of pliers. Total time for repair, less than five minutes.

Hopefully it's not really a big problem. Its sad to hear others have the same problem. I'll bring it in for a warranty fix. If for whatever reason it's not covered I'll do it myself with the details some of you have provided.

Thanks all.

I am sure that your dealer will take care of that nozzle under warranty. This issue will not stop me from ordering a 2015 when they come out.

Yes VERY common problem, should be covered under warrantee.
I believe that's why Jeep is selling these cheap poorly made washer nozzles for $22.50!! MSRP
