Question on SRT roof rails
I just picked up a Certified 2013 JGC Trailhawk and I had a question about the SRT roof rails. I've found posts where guys have switched from SRT to the stock roof rails so they can put some kind of rack on it, but has anyone went the other way? I know Just for Jeeps says some modification is needed. Does anyone know what that "modifcation" is? I took a stock one off and notice the rivets sit higher, so the SRT ones won't sit flush. Is it a matter of cutting/grinding those rivets down? Just want to make sure there isn't some easier route that someone did. I would like to get rid of the stock roof rails as I'll never use them. I have a hitch mounted bike rack and if I go to Tahoe I'll just throw the board/skis in the back. Thanks all!
Some pics of my new ride can be seen here. Couldn't figure out how to load pics from Flickr on to this site. Mods so far...Mopar CAI, sport pedals, and swapped the red badge for a gray one. Have all kinds of stuff planned for it as well (TB, CBE, tune, spacers, etc)
