i upgraded to sylvania silverstar ultras in highs, lows, and fogs about 3 years ago. i had read that the 9005 high beam fit in the fog light without any modification. within a month or two of putting the 9005's in the fog lights, both of my lens cracked. the fog light bulb is only 45 watts and the high beam is 65 watts. i think the bulb is much hotter. i just had my driver's side burn out last week so i put 2 new 9005 SSU's in and now have more cracking. i read that acidcold is running 100 watt bulbs in his fogs. i guess the bulb can make a difference.
i upgraded the bulbs in my lows and fogs in my wj and also had the lens crack and the bulbs burn out really quickly. so far i havent had any trouble with my wk running 3k fogs.
Mine cracked too and this post got me wondering as to what are the options. I know the halo ones and do not like em and the tint of these do not do it for me. Are there other ones and what is the diameter of the fog's anyway, would a Hella 120mm fit ?
Im telling you guys TYC has them OEM look but are aftermarket i went to my local shop near here and the have the catalog to order all OEM lights but are aftermarket
Reviving an old thread, but I just installed these. They didn't come with screws, and (as far as I can see) there aren't even screw holes on the housing. So they are only held in by the plastic clips.
i have been looking for fogs exactly like these to match my blacked out housings, wonder if you can just swap them out and if the bulb is the same size so you dont need the new wiring and switch... let us know i will def. order a pair
