steering wheel vibration - TSB 6-11-14

1 Attachment(s)
Just saw this one

Would this apply to SRTs? We have 20" rims, and I have this and thought it was the 1 year old Pirelles? (I think a couple others have mentioned this?)

Or do we have different wheel bearings - don't the TSB's usually say something about 'does not apply to SRT's or certain models?

Thoughts?

I'm almost due to get another oil change and get the brake booster recall, and would bring this up (or ask for an alignment) - also the '14 TSB flash while better than previous, a gremlin is screwing with the downshifts from 6th to 5th and 4th -

Subscribed! I've had the shimmy and wrote it off as the Pirellis. I for one am getting more and more pissed off about the forced Pirelli relationship via FIAT. Viper got screwed out of Michelin, and we are stuck with 3 tire options that meet SRT specs, 1 of which is a dedicated snow and ice tire. Shame on SRT. They managed to get a special 355 wide rear tire for the Viper, they should get us a damn non runflat 295 designed as on option. I'm feeling jaded.

I'll be happy to know if it's something else and not the tires.

Sucks because I think i felt this before with my stock tires. Now I have a different set of tires and it looks like the automatically disqualify you from the TSB if you don't have original tires and/or wheels.

I definitely have the shake from 65-74... Can someone confirm this is for the SRT.

I'll fix it on my own dime if they won't warranty it due to new tires...

I just had the yokohamas put on and then went back and got after the guys at Discount for not balancing them correctly. The vibe is still there at 65-75 mph.

This could be why.

I think they are going to try to screw us because we have after market wheels and/or tires...

Gotcha the wording of the TSB makes it seem like they will be extremely strict on approval.

d. Check that the vehicle is equipped with original wheels and tires specified by the vehicle sales code

Keep us posted!

Gonna schedule for next week. Probably about to order the iForged (and sell the stockers) so I'm glad to be getting this taken care of now.
