Eibach Springs on EcoDiesel

Has anyone attempted to lower their ecodiesel yet? I spoke with Eibach and they hadn't tested the springs on ED yet, just the gas v6 and v8. The weight according to Jeep is almost identical to that of the v8, as is the distribution, so I assume it would look about the same as the v8 with springs installed. Eibach clams 1.6" front and 1.8" rear for the v8.

Thoughts? I'm still trying to decide if I want to put them on either way, I just want it to sit more level, the rake in the rear bugs me.http://s27.postimg.org/v4pe03t9f/20140614_150239.jpg

I know of one other member here who's lowered his diesel on the Road Magnet mid level springs...It looks pretty slammed though compared to other non-diesels I've seen with the same RM mid levels and the Eibach drop.

And may I say, I really dig the matte spider monkeys and tinted tails. Very nice!

The same spider monkeys are next on my list.

Re: Eibach Springs on EcoDiesel

Pinetar- Thank You! I love the way it turned out, I just got them installed last week and the tail lights a few days ago. I have plans to paint all the black trim body color with exception for the chrome section of the front bumper- it's going gloss black, same with mirrors and the only emblem i'll be leaving on - rear JEEP.

That ED with the Road Magnet springs looks too low IMHO... I don't mind the level of the front, it's the rear that I don't like.

I'm considering installing the rear springs only - 1.6" drop to level it out and see how it looks....

Right on and I agree with you too. It looks too low to me as well.

I've also thought about doing the drop and considered just doing the rear, but people said I should just go for the all-around drop and I kind of fizzled out on the idea. But I'd really love to see how yours progresses with just the rear drop and even if it's just the new trim being painted. So keep us updated.

I got the eibachs installed. The ride height ended up being perfect and the handling is greatly improved. http://s22.postimg.org/ijuz7rj8h/truck3.jpg

Nice! Glad it worked out for you.

Looks just right for a mid-level drop.

Thanks.

It's been a few days now and I'm noticing some creaking noise from the front left strut. I haven't had a chance to take it back to the shop yet and I'm going crazy trying to figure out what it is.

I'm thinking something may not have been torqued properly causing the creak at low speeds and upon stop and go.

Well that's kind of a buzzkill. Hope the shop can figure it out for you.

That's definitely one of the reasons I've been a little scared to mess with the suspension right now. I think I'll wait until I'm a bit more confident in owning the Jeep long-term before I commit.

Happened to me when they lowered mine...

The front sway bars were tightened up enough.

They were not tightened up enough? So it was an easy fix just needed to be properly torqued? Was yours just making the creaking noise at low speeds and upon coming to a complete stop and sometimes accelerating from a complete stop?
