Brisbane day trips

So I'm off for my first 'off road' day trip in the new GC on Monday, going to do a run up duck creek rd with some friends. Not very challenging, but hopefully there will be some muddy ruts to test.

I thought it would be good to build a list of easy one day offroad trips in the south east with some basic info:

Duck Creek Rd - starting at Kerry Rd, south of Beaudesert and finishing at O-Reileys. Gold coin donation.

Booloumba Creek - Starting at Stoney Creek Rd just west of Woodford, north through Imbil State forest on Jimna-Bellthorpe Rd, then back toward Booloumba Creek, past the Sunday Creek education center and on to Booloumba creek camp ground.

Condamine River Rd - Starting at Spring Creek Rd, 50kms south of Boonah, lots of shallow river crossings, continues through to Warwick. (I haven't done this one yet)

Mt Mee - Starting at Laceys rd just west of Dayboro, up the Range Rd forest drive and Mt Mee forest drive to the camp grounds.

Lockyer National Park - Starting at Krugers rd north of Gatton, west along Redbank Gully rd, then north on 17 mile rd to Ravensbourne national park. Can be closed in wet weather. (Haven't done this one yet)

Teewah beach - East of Gympie, head toward Rainbow Beach, then turn right at Freshwater Rd or 5kms before that is Kings bore rd (sometimes closed off), drive up to the lighthouse, then back down to 1st Beach cutting at Teewah and on the ferry back to Tewantin. Requires a permit.

Bribie Island - Across the bridge and north toward poverty creek and along the northen access track. (I haven't done this one yet)

Feel free to add to the list.....

I drove to Five Dock today, Parramatta Road is a real bitch to navigate.

Five Dock is way too adventurous for me. I tackled the Old Windsor road for a few klms, then ran the roundabouts at Norwest. Really gets the adrenalin pumping.

LOL, Mat and Al have you two actually met each other yet? Can just imagine it after a few beers around the campfire :)

You mean Norwest Race Circuit. At 5pm it changes to Norwest carpark

Well went up duck creek rd yesterday, a bit rougher than I was expecting, but no problems. Tried OR2 for bits of it, and heard the rear wheel slipping, then the instrument panel shows the little lock sign on the drivetrain..... cool!

Found a bit of mud off the track and had a bit of a spin through that. Had a look at doing the rock..... looks way too cut up, so gave that a miss.

With those wheels and tyres as well as thr diff it should pretty much go anywhere.
I did a course a couple of weekends ago and was very surprised how well it went without the diff and on the 20in road tyres.

Yep, I was more worried about scraping the nose than anything else, there is a steep section up duck creek rd that isn't too unlike that clip, but I was going up.

'The rock' track is really dug up, not sure the GC would make the approach, and the exit track had big exposed boulders at the top, there would be some scraping of the underbelly involved breaking over the lip.

We went up the same section and then another section that was even narrower however my passenger couldnt be bothered walking up.
No way I would have thought it would make it up and i even said to the instructor that I would not have attempted it without him their but the Jeep did it and with 20's on :)
