4.7l wj spark plugs..

wjjeeps.com says they need to stay OE... Copper plugs or preignition will start.

i work at napa, most of my co workers, and some of the mechanics i deliver parts too say that it won't matter if i throw in platinum or double platinum like i want too. so they will last a little longer.

any input? i'm doing them this weekend.

along with homemade cai =]

Platinum has less conduction than copper... making it last longer. Only thing better than copper to conduct is Silver. Stick with OEM. They have it that way for some reason or another lol

Ive heard alot about 4.7's and 5.7's being pretty picky and not liking platinums in them.

I run stock Champions, if that tells you anything.

Yeah i've heard of people having issues with Platinum, I would use the Champion Copper core but Autozone did not have them in stock so I went with another brand but they are basically the same thing as the Champions, copper core .40 and they have worked perfect for me. I think I paid 1.40 each? I think as long as you stick with a .40 copper core you should be good.

Always stock Champions for the 4.7:thumbsup:

I had issues with platinum, stick with OE. Half the mechanics in this world don't have real world experience besides what's in there books or PC.

the champions are dirt cheap at the dealer and they already come gapped correctly

I would still check the gap regardless of what the dealer says.

With the right tools, it's a 30 min job.

Edit: The guide on WJjeeps is excellent as far as getting the correct extensions, etc. I swear by it.

WJJeeps lists the gap at the correct .040. Maybe you were reading the gap for the 4.0L? (.035).
