Searched Forum, Can't find the answer for the noise.. PLEASE HELP

So I drive a 2008 Grand Cherokee Overland... 5.7 Hemi... QDII... 80,XXX miles. I've owned many jeeps before including mid-90's Wranglers (about 4 or 5), a 1998 GC, a 2004 GC, a 2000 Cherokee (with 264,000 miles before it was totalled), and a 1999 Cherokee currently with 441,000 original miles.

I've owned my newest WK for about a week or so now and I can clearly hear this clicking noise in front end primarily heard on the driver side. I've tried isolating the cause by rev the engine in park, idling in park, coasting in drive, and revving the engine in neutral while coasting.... NO NOISE WHATSOEVER. But if I accelerate from any speed; from a stop, from 20mph, 30mph, 40mph, etc in a straight line or around a turn it clicks. So there is a clicking noise only when accelerating.

I'm thinking either a CV joint or a a U-Joint. Has anyone else heard of this or going/gone through this???

So I assume no one has had this problem before?

I had a similar problem on my 14' JK. Still in the shop but preliminary report was it is the driveshaft.

That's what I'm leaning towards being the problem. I can't think of many things that would cause a clicking noise only when there's a load on the drivetrain

I will admit I am not too fimiliar with your vehicle. With my buddies rubicon we removed the rear driveshaft and drove in 4X4. Then we removed the front and put the rear back on and the noise disappeared. His front CV joint had to be rebuilt.

Fortunately I am still 80 miles shy of my 30 day/1000 mile used car drivetrain warranty. So I set it up with the dealership to take a look at it after its out of the body shop. If they return it and say it's normal I might just slap somebody.
