Bilstein HDs W/ 5100s

So I bought some Bilstein HDs for the front and I was thinking about getting some Bilstein 5100s for the rear. Has anyone installed the 5100s? My goal is to level the suspension out and I know the HDs will give about a 3/8" boost all the way around. If I put 5100s in the rear then I could possibly adjust them so it's rides level. Correct?

I believe only the 5100 fronts are adjustable. I dont see how adding shocks will change your ride height other than the 5100 fronts that have the adjustable spring seat to preload the spring.

Ok thanks. So what is the point of having shocks that only adjust in the front?

I have the 5100's. I have the front at the lowest 3/4 in setting and 5100 shocks in the rear. It leveled the jeep out nice if that's what your looking. You can always go to a higher setting in front and add a spacer in the back. I also added SRT sway bars and soon to add bwoody end links.

Cool. Thanks for the info. I might just go with HDs on the front and OEM on the back. That might level it out.

honestly you will need more than just the 4600s(HD) in the front, grab yourself a strut spacer as well. you will be justa bout level. the 5100s in the rear are NOT adjustable, only the fronts. but the 5100s and the 4600s have the same valving so you wont gain a boost from them in the rear.

i just replaced my worn HDs with another set of HDs, along with some XK coils front and rear and i still have a rake. i have a strut spacer installed up front with the hemi xk coils and the HDs, and its about a 1/2" or so lower in the front than the rear- the rear has the HDs and XK rear coils.

What strut spacer would you recommend?

youre options are RRO, rustys and JBA. i snagged the JBA as it was the cheapest of the 3 and did the same thing as the others.

heres how mine sits currently. those are 32" bridgestones on jk 18s

It's crazy how just a little bump up in the front makes it look so much better, imo. Why did they design it to have a rake?

They design them with a rake so when you load it down with gear it will sit level, rather than sag in the rear.

Bilstein HDs W/ 5100s

One other question. What's the max tire size I can run with Bilstein HDs and the JBA strut spacers in the front?

I'm looking at getting some 245/65/17. Could I go a size up with no rub?
