Mod Suggestions...? Will these do the trick?

Sorry since I'm sure they've all been covered.

I want to do some performance mods to my 2011 GC Laredo that would give it more low end torque, resulting in better throttle response and umph at the get go. Love the vehicle, but not really digging the iffy throttle response when accelerating from dead stop.

Looking into a K&N CAI, Magnaflow Exhaust system, and Fastman TB.

What are each of these going to give me performance wise? Are these the mods I'm looking for? Suggestions welcome too.

Thanks all!

Tyler

Also any experience with AFE CAI's?

K&N vs. AFE ?

I have a K&N installed on my 2014 Limited Hemi. Enjoy it so far. Don't notice much on the butt dyno. Magnaflow exhaust is on it way. Hope it works out well and is more muscle than obnoxious. Haven't tried a TB yet. I hear that a tuner does wonders on the 2011's with the older transmissions.

Yea that is a concern. Not trying to be the loud street racer in my Laredo, but if adds a bit of performance and a nice growl, the magnaflow would be cool with me.

Interested to know what you think about the exhaust and CAI combination when you get it.

Check YouTube for videos of exhaust. Most exhausts have some sort of coverage. There is a good WKII vid comparison of the Corsa vs Borla (I believe)

I have the AFE and I love it, IMO its the best looking and has the largest diameter pipe.

Nice little extra kick and nice sound after I installed Diablo tuner and Volant CAI yesterday. Trying to justify an exhaust and custom tune from Johan now...

Your best bet would be a custom engine tune. All the add ons your talking about there won't be as good as a custom tune.

Try looking at a sprintbooster. It fools the electronic throttle.
It's not that expensive and has a satisfaction guarantee.
I had one one my 2011 and loved it.
Not needed on the 2014 with the new transmission.

I actually still have my old one on a shelf, I could make you a deal on it with a money back guarantee, too.

I like the sprint booster as a concept, it does nothing to add power, it simply adjusts the ratio or leverage on the Ethrottle, making 10% seem like 15% and 20 seem like 30 and so on. And the initial dead spot on flooring it isn't changed that's.in the computer. It does feel 75% better. I know because I have one sitting in my drawer too..:)
I wouldn't combine the following with the booster but if you could it'd be awesome.

Diablo sports only downside is the need to run 91-93 octane, if you want the higher gains. It works exactly as described, and the power is noticeable..to a degree, it ain't a hemi.. I live around the corner from them, they are well know and respected by many people.

The CAI on its own or even with an exhaust won't do much more than "feel" better and sound great.
Even if you dynoed these two, it would be the same results as dynoing on two different days, +/- 5hp
The Fastman TB in concert with the previous three, will make them actually "feel" significant.

Now the fun, as stated by JoeD a custom tune will be the thing. email Hemifever and have him set up a custom tune for your Jeep's mods and needs, for your diablo tuner, or buy it from him first.
You again won't be driving a hemi, but the new power difference will be apparent and the drivability is + a factor of 10.
Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep

No numbers but if you dynoed it after all this it wouldn't matter which day, you'd see real gains

Diablo 93 tune and CAI on my '14 Hemi... OMFG. I'm gonna get a ticket really soon.

^^^ - Does your Diablo tune have the, 'Hemifever', enhancements added to it, or is it strictly a Diablo tune?
