White vs Granite Grey

I'm new to the forum and about to pull the trigger on getting a 2014 GC Diesel and trading in my x5 Diesel.

I've been on the forums looking for a similar thread but didn't find any.

I wanted to buy a black GC, but in my area they are all out with the packages that I wanted so now I have to choose between Granite or white.

I plan to modify by blacking out and adding wheels, and have seen both Grey blacked out and White w/ Black I'm just stuck on which way to go or should I just decide based on the best deal.

Your thoughts?
thanks in advance! (and sorry if this is a repetitive thread)

I think both look great blacked out. To me, white will show dirt easily. Id go gray.

I was between white and granite, ultimately went with granite for this reason.

Love the granite color after having it for about a year now; can really get it to shine. Can't say I'd black it out (I did do the windows), but that's personal preference. Can't see it looking bad by any means either.

I'm partial to white over granite, but both are good colors.

I'm partial to grey but I own a white one. I love how grey can be classed up with little chrome accents, or if its your taste it's darth vader evil in black accents.. I love the shine when you prep and finish it well, great lines.

I've fallen in love with my white wk2, and I bought it solely because it had what I wanted and the price was right. Yet every time I see it, it stuns me how white can be so sharp, look luxurious, and stay so clean...yup. When prepped well, and using the right product, sealer vs. wax, my Jeep sheds dirt well but surprisingly it carries and hides it amazingly, better than my bronze metallic Yota, or black ES for sure. in fact I have two white cars right now that I never expected to stay clean so long.. and they're my favorites.

Here's. the caveat, I live in Florida, we don't have snow. But from my years in NJ it doesn't matter what color your car is in the winter. But it rains daily and the white cars look better than the others, white hides more than you'd expect

It's 100% personal taste in the end, unless your "value oriented" like me.. I say check out both side by side or some real world pics. If your going to black it out grey will look better, I did the stormtrooper look on my other white car, but it's a small car, the WK2 is big and I think it looks a little too out of balance black to white on the massive white jeep. IMO. Pics either way please as some of these wk2's are just awesome.

Thanks for the insight. I'm kind of in the same situation, I've got two dealers each with the other color. I'm working to get the best deal I can I've seen some really nice SRT8 white and gray ones so I think either will work. I currently have the Platinum Gray X5 diesel, and like the color and did the black out grill and wheels. So white would be a change...decisions decisions...

If you are looking for opinions.
I love the white... I was torn between it and the black, went black on brown.

For me when taking SRT. I prefer grey, it comes so monotone already that the last few black touches you can make, when done right$$. It just looks really mean.
In any model if your going blacked out I'd go grey. When blacking out any white vehicle it's a contrast and a balance is hard to strike, too much or too little, it's personal taste. For me it's because the jeep is large and there's too much white. Chrome works as more of an accent on white.
When blacking out a grey Jeep, black's more of a complimentary color, and the amount doesn't have to balance as much as be in the right place.
See Shthpns jeep for why, that looks awesome to me.
Look at a bunch of build pics on here, people have done a great job both ways.

In any non SRT and between these two colors, I like white, it classes it up big time, in the diesel it's just tough guy in an expensive suit cool. But in the SRT, grey just looks like something I'd take on a midnight poker run, and win.
