Strut bar vs sway bar?? Which and why??

I'm planning on changing my stock WK sway and springs to SRT sway and springs. I guess it's a good idea to change the shocks to Bilsteins and Bwoody sway bar links also which will have to wait a few months do to my illness of myfundsarelow. But I was wondering what should I expect with changing the sways and/or the strut bars to SRT ones???

Re: Strut bar vs sway bar?? Which and why??

i think they are sometimes called both.

BUT FOR ME: the strut bar/brace is the thing under the hood that goes from the top of one STRUT to the other.

the thing that reduces SWAY and has sway bushing and sway links is the sway bars. its part of the suspension.

and IMO, you need it all but the STRUT BAR.

now here is how i did it.

rear bilsteins. cool then
front bilsteins - alignment cooler then
rear addco sway - really cool then
front srt8 sway - riding on rails then
bwoody links front and rear - now we are geting somewhere then
20's - wooooohooooo !

each step added something. based on budget and goals, take it one step at a time.

^^^ exactly what rob said bro!

strut bar is on the top, sway is under the engine bay:)

OK my jeep had the strut bar on the top so I should be ok with upgrading to bilstein shocks, SRT springs & sways front and rear (Under the engine), and SRT reps and keeping the wk strut bar also.

OK thanks for your input Rob!!! I can't wait to have it all in. At this point I may even look into a turbo or supercharger next year and keep this thing. LOL

Nice Nate...trust me bro you will be very happy with the F/R SRT8 Sways, F/R Bilsteins and BWoody Sway links...like Rob said every mod made the ride a little better each time!

I have been wanting to buy a SRT8 strut brace...so Rob are you saying that is not necessary? More asthetic than anything?

I was thinking that too. It's not much larger than the WK one.

I just posted a set for sale in the sale section. Front and rear sway, brackets, bushings, and end links. Taken off the car with less than 3K miles. It's all boxed up and ready to ship.
