ABS/Traction Control Warning Light
On my way back from a ski trip in the french alps the ABS and Traction control warning lights came on and stayed on - also it started telling me to 'service 4wd system' and 'service elec system' and at the same time the sat-nav stopped working and showed me i was still near Geneva, when i turned the engine off everything would be ok for about 1/2hr or so..

Tried the key thing with no luck.

Help please..

Re: ABS/Traction Control Warning Light
really could be a number of things and it could just be an electrical glitch common with the traction systems and to the WK/WH. I would remove the negative on the battery and push the brake pedal several times to clear all the codes/lights.

Was the traction system under heavy load during the snow, slush etc?

Re: ABS/Traction Control Warning Light
this happened to me and scott is right, just remove the negative terminal to reset it all.

Re: ABS/Traction Control Warning Light
also, it happened to me quite frequently so i had the dealer do the TSB on this problem and it has never happened again.

Re: ABS/Traction Control Warning Light
Thanks, i have also heard it is a faulty abs/traction control sensor so maybe a trip to the dealer is called for..
