OEM front SRT8/XK sway bar bushings... to grease or not to grease...

That is the question. The bushings have a sort of "fuzzy" inner surface to reduce bar friction. Do these need grease as well or is the "fuzz" enough? I didn't want to grease them then find out performance is actually better with just the fuzz.

i have the oem srt8 ones with my front srt8 bar and I did NOT add any grease.

i think only the poly ones need grease. but I have been wrong before ....

I ended up not greasing them. The fuzz should be enough, for now...

While I had the two bars in front of me, I took some measurements. Unfortunately, the difference was less than I was expecting.

Standard WK ('09 Overland) front sway bar: 22.0 lbs, 33.338 mm.
SRT8/XK (52090154AG) front sway bar: 23.6 lbs, 34.131 mm.

Measurements were taken from the same spot on each bar so I assume powdercoat thickness was relatively constant.

All things being equal, the diameter increase alone equates to only a 9.9% increase in stiffness.

It could be more but I don't know about the bars construction. Some say the stock bars are hollow. If the thicker bar uses thicker wall tubing, it would be even stiffer.

I don't know, I just thought I'd throw out some numbers...

i noticed a considerable weight difference between the 2.

and if you had the addco there, its even thicker and a bit heavier than the srt8......
