Which transmission do I have?

Hi guys,
I got WJ Laredo 2003, 4L i6.
How can I check which transmission do I have?
42RE or 45RFE?
What's the difference?

Thanks.

You have the 42re. Though almost all REs are similair, there's still a big difference. You'll never get a 45rfe behind that i6. Our 42res suck in stock form but have great potential. What do you want to know about it?

I want to change fluid and wanted to know what, how and how much to use :)

Also, i get rpm "wobble" when driving 50-60 mph, feels like it switches between gears, can't decide which to use. I thought oil change mught help.
Any dieas?

Bands? Which bands?
Will it help RPM jumps?

The clutch bands. Overtime the bands wear out naturally, so there's adjustments to tighten them up to compensate. But too tight and bad things will happen. There's one adjustment on the outside of the case by the linkage and one on in the inside. If you have a haynes manual or factory service manual i'm sure it's in there. If you don't, PM me
