Dip in acceleration

Hi guys,

My WJ is having some problems lately. When accelerating, there is a dip in power around 3000 rpm. Also the fuel consumption is higher then before. Checked spark plugs, all look ok. Can it be a fuel pressure problem? (fuel pump or filter/regulator?).

try your o2 sensors the up stream ones " ones comeing from the maifolds before the cats" they could be starting to act up on you and they will cause performance problems when going out.

Re: Dip in acceleration

Is there any way to measure them?

how many miles? O2's can cause loss of mileage and power loss too. What motor?

He has a 4.7L.

Re: Dip in acceleration

My GC is indeed a 4.7L and has now 109.000 Km on the clock. Acceleration at city speeds seems to be normal, the problem is only noticeable at highway speeds.

Re: Dip in acceleration

i would give the seafoam a go. let your 4.7 inhale some thro the power brake booster vacum hose. do about half a can and put the rest in the tank. it will do wonders for you. and its easy just make sure youdont let it suck in fast do it rather slow..

Never heard about this seafoam. Is it a brand? I live in Brazil, any cleaner which goes through the inlet will do?
