Hood Insulator

I need a new one because the old one is falling apart (tearing around some of the pins) and it's starting to hang too low. I already noticed that some of the insulator is in contact with the strut bar and the heat is melting the insulator a little bit

Is there any specific way to remove the old one? What about installing the new one? Thanks.

Re: Hood Insulator

the pins are use once.

I also need a new pad, so I'm waiting for a new one from the dealer.

The dealer told me that should there be an underhood fire, the hood pins melt and the insulator drops down to help extinguish the fire.
