Didn't know where this would fit best...anyways!

I got the throttle Body in the mail yesterday afternoon but I was too busy to install it until I got home from work today. Really easy install but hell, better to have too much information available than not enough so here's my how-to:

Start by removing the bolts on the left side (left and right as seen standing in front of the Jeep). They have a 5/16 bolt tip. An extended screwdriver tool comes in very useful.

To get to the 3rd bolt you'll have to unplug the hose.

To free up the left side you have to pull the throttle control wire (idk the legit term) back, slide it into the opening, and pull out the small metal piece.

Then you have up push the plastic tip at the end of the other wire forward towards the bumper.

On the right side you will find a screw with a torx head (a 20 fits) connecting a black sensor to the TB.

Now the TB should only be connected by one last sensor at the bottom on the right side. You can now shift it around to get the torx screwdriver into place. Remove the screw and use a twisting/pulling motion to slide the metal pieces apart.

Repeat the same steps in reverse to reinstall. Be sure you don't start by bolting the main TB back into place or you won't be able to get that last sensor on as the screw hides behind a hose (yes, I made that mistake...)

Results
I didn't expect anything nearly as noticeable as this! The biggest difference is felt at takeoff. There's almost no reaction pause between flooring it and getting jerked back in your seat. Definitely a huge improvement in speeding up while already moving too. Raced a couple friends home from dinner tonight so I got to feel the difference at WOT.

There's a very slight whistle when the RPMs get up around 2500+, similar to that of the CAI. The CAI is now a good bit louder too, sounds like I've got a vacuum cleaner running under the hood. The exhaust tone is deeper as well!

Not to forget the aesthetics, the part itself is a work of art! Ryan's polishing job looks great and he doesn't miss a single detail. It looks and performs great.

Unbeatable price, genuinely great guy to do business with (kept me up to date, got it done and shipped in no time once his tools were fixed, and very friendly) , and one hell of a product - mods don't get better than this! I'd highly recommend getting ahold of one of these.

Good write up!!! I'm considering doing this mod if I can find a 08+ TB for a decent price.

Nice write up, but Nick, if you can hear the difference, there's something wrong.
You either have an air leak somewhere, likely from the inlet ducting or TB gasket (the parts you've disturbed to R & R this), or possibly a leaking throttle blade shaft.

I respectfully disagree with your assertion that "if you can hear the difference" that something is off.

It's very possible that Nick needs to go back and verify that everything is torqued down, that the gasket is sealing, etc. The gasket is re-usable on 3.7s, 4.7s, and 5.7s.

I dont modify the shaft or the hardware associated with it, so it would be highly unlikely that that is the cause of the problem. Assuming there is a problem to begin with, which I don't feel there is.

Assuming it's not something more serious, most ported/bored TBs will make a hiss sound at part throttle. On other applications I've seen factory TBs (with CAIs, mind you) make this type of noise. The sound is high in pitch and if it's what I'm thinking it is, it's normal.

I didn't percieve it as such, Benno. What I am implying, however, is that I've done enough of these to know what people usually see in terms of sound and feel and everything that Nick has stated falls in line with the feedback I've gotten from other folks.

Is it possible that Nick may not have torqued down the TB sufficiently, or somehow ripped the TB gasket, etc etc ? Sure. But I doubt that's the case here.

I know for fact that Nick did not do a PCM reset, so if there was a vacuum leak of some sort we'd more than likely hear about issues with a raised idle, poor gas mileage (as vacuum dictates MAP signal which influences fueling as well as the corresponding parameters in the PCM), etc etc. Not to mention he would not feel the gains he claims to percieve.

I would advise that he double-check everything, but frankly, I'm not worried about it.

The whistle is only there when I'm on the gas, so I believe it's from the air passing over the blade rather than elsewhere on the TB.
