customizing my Jeep

I'm new here and just like to ask a couple of questions which I cant seem to find anywhere else. I have an '05 Grand Cherokee rocky mountain that I got last year and right after getting it I did some upgrade to the inside.

Pioneer Avic unit,XM tuner, rear backup camera,20 front tint "pulled over many times so switch to 50", 12" Kicker sub and pathetic 200 kicker amp,HID headlights, Viper 5901 alarm/remote start. $2000

Well it took a year but I've finally paid off my CC so I'm thinking of doing some upgrades to the outside

Updates I want with questions:

Chrome mirrors, panels, rear. Are those chrome plated thing worth it off ebay or should I just forget them.

RIMS RIMS RIMS: I went to an aftermarket tire shop and was quoted $1500 for a set of 22" with tires. I live in NYC so potholes are everywhere and I drive over everything with my jeep so I'm leaning away from that and think I'll go for the 20's instead.

Photos of the rims off ebay from the shop I would be using less than a mile away: These are all 20" which one would look good on my Jeep.

So with questions for the rims: My car is still all stock suspension wise so would there need to be any modification to fit 20's. Would I be doing any long term damage to the car?

What are your suggestions? I got an awesome 0% apr CC deal until next april so I'm looking at a $1200-$1400 budget for tires/rims.

Welcome to JG, nice to see a fellow NY'er and nice rig

A couple mods you may like to consider is tinted tail lights (either stock or LED towers). We have a vendor who you can ship out your tails to and he'll tint them (quality spray not film) for a very good price. Im not sure how you feel about that since you said you've been pulled over although me personally I haven't had a problem with mine. Theres also another mod which I personally like which is the dual turn signals (white when running then turn amber when you engage the turning signal). It requires buying a $50+ pair of bulbs from either V-LEDs or Autolumination as well as splicing and wiring some resistors to avoid hyperflashing due to LEDs low power draw. (See this thread ofr the process: http://jeepgarage.org/showthread.php...al+turn+signal ) I'd do this only if your HIDs are white.

For rims, what theme do you have in mind? (Steel Blue and chrome, Steel blue and black etc etc). Also I'd recommend sticking with 20's due to the potholes. In terms of five spoke design there are the SRT replicas (popular choice) and there are the Boss 305 (this rim has a lip). Both of these rims are available in chrome or in black.

I like the last wheel or third to last personally. Any will look sharp though.

20" rims will not hurt it at all. Make sure you get the right offset and backspacing though!

I'd choose this one!

Welcome from brooklyn.

As for the ebay stuff, I wouldn't get those chrome stuff.

www.Justforjeeps.com
is linked to this website actually and have great stuff for your jeep.

The rims are a nice choice, but if you drive fine the potholes shouldn't be a problem.

I wouldn't tint the tailights if your local 5-0 is giving you a problem. But this is one of my favorite mods myself.

have you considered getting the chrome covers and then having them painted to match?
