Oil Leak

Today I did a oil change on the jeep and I noticed oil dripping off the corner of my engine head in veh. terms (right front). Its not bad and the oil is fine (checked it before changing). Coolant is at the proper level as well. I know I chrysler tech and he said it could possibly be the oil fill gasket causing this issue. Has anyone ran into a similar scenario? Thanks in advance.. 3.7L

Re: Oil Leak

did you clean it with a clean shop rag or something and reach up to clean around the contact area of the oil filter mounting plate making sure your old gasket wasnt there still?

sometimes for maybe a day or two after your oil change you might have small amounts of used oil drip if you didnt clean around the filter area very well.

Re: Oil Leak

what your bud the tech is saying is: Somethines when you take the old filter off, the gasket gets stuck. so then you put the new filter on, with 2 gaskets and it leaks......

if that not possible, then like scott says, some dripped on the skid when you removed the filter, and its now dripping.
