Flipper Glass in 2011

Any Pictures of the 2011 GC showing the Flipper Glass ?

The White Gold GC is top on my list

Does that wiper being on the glass mean it's no longer a flip-up?

I am 90% sure it is still a flip up

Flipper Glass - Maybe not ?

Looking at the rear hatch at the top of the glass there seems to be a brake light below the spoiler. Would the light stop the window from reaching a full open position. I am unable to see hinges of any kind. The information I have read says that the flipper glass was retained in the 2011 model. I have been unable to find a picture with the flipper glass raised. With the wiper in the lower glass area would the glass still be able to operate. I find the flipper glass a great advantage when you garage park your GC and need to reach the rear cargo area. Maybe some insider can get a few good shots of the flipper glass or someone who had a eyeball on one at the shows......

I saw the light!

From what I can tell, no flipper glass for 2011. Liftgate glass props are not listed or shown in the parts manual. If I recall correctly, the liftgate design is such that the top slides back a bit when opened, meaning that the entire liftgate requires less "opening" room behind it, if that makes sense.

I've rarely seen a pop-up window that had the wiper go up with it. I think Porsche had one on a 944? series, not that it relates here. A wiper motor is way too heavy to put on the glass, that's why most usually keep it down on the hatch. That and trying to align a pin and keep it sealed makes separating the arm and motor a hassle.

Most flippers have at least one hole on each side for a hinge pin.

The opening for the WK's flipper is a bit high. But I use it all the time, quite a lot more than opening the whole hatch. I could see how some folks might not use it because of the height. Especially given the whole 50+ & $$$ demographic they target the WK toward (not saying this makes any sense though).

I wouldn't really accept an electric lift/close feature as a viable alternative. I like using the glass to also make sure stuff hasn't shifted backward, ready to fall out when I open the hatch.

I've never used my 'flipper glass' once other than for the hell of it, as Wkearney99 says, its too high. I see no use for it, just open the whole hatch
