ANNOUNCEMENT-Bwoody TRUE CAI for the 4.7/3.7!!!!!

Mike at Bwoody perfromance has agreed to develop a TRUE CAI for the 4.7 V8 WK.
http://www.jeepgarage.org/f6/bwoody-cai-for-jeep-wk-4-7l-892.html

I believe the CAI would work on the 3.7 V6 as well...but we need some confirmation. I need a 4.8 V8 owner with the K&N Intake to meet up with a 3.7 V6 owner and see if the 4.7 K&N works on the V6. That should be proof enough. provide pics etc.

All interested in a TRUE CAI for their WK.....POST HERE NOW!
Price would be between $300 and $369. Bwoody also needs a volunteer near Edgewood, Maryland for test fitament etc. Please apply within---LOL

for me, I need to see real data compare against my K&N on a 4.7 before I do anyhting. My K&N comes witha dyno chart.

also, there are at least 3 know cases on srt8's of hydrolock motors when you TRUE COLD AIR CAI sucks water and hydrolocks the motor.

to be fair, i also found an instance of hydrolock witha AFE too.

Matt,

It's about 20 or 25 miles north of Baltimore up 95. Around Emmorton Rd and 95.

Thanks,
Tom.

Always my concern when it comes to any intake that has any possibility for water contact with where i live. Engine compartment gets soaked at times. I am interested but hesitant.

I just added to my post. To be fair, any of them could cause hydrolock if you go thru a big enough water hazard! I did find one on JU with an AFE ....

the key is to PAY ATTENTION. I have to say thats true with lots of mods. its like adding an SRT8 front bumper, than bitching when you hit the curb or parking thingy.

and in defense of this product, there are literally hundreds, maybe thousands, in use daily.......... without a hitch. check the red srt8 site to substaniate that!

the worst story is the one where the dealer tech ran thru the puddle and hydrolocked the motor of a customers car. Now that is jacked.

Yeah i mean i don't go through flooding that is up to the bumper or anyhting (close) but not quite. I also don't fly through flooding or large puddles like a tough guy not caring about my Jeep either. Its just normal driving.

A K&N Drycharger works wonders and is cheap insurance. Now if you drive into 2 1/2 ft of water you're on your own.

Tom.

Tom.

That would be my suggestion to anyone concerned of water in the intake.

First of all you need to really soak an oiled filter to get it to suck up water, (i dunno what filter bwoody uses but i prefer K&N filters)

But adding a dry charger to it (usually offered with the places that sell bwoody intakes) then your good to go unless you plan on water fording. And if you live in a high flood area and drive through deep water on flood days, your just an idiot any way.

Does the Bwoody intake cone sit any lower then any other brand of filter? Where it would be more likely to get wetter vs say a K&N?
