No change, framing starts this week, completed vehicles start to roll off the line on May 10th. Production will slowly ramp up, by the end of this month they will complete about 3,600 builds. Next month, many times that amount.

Hey All,

First time post

I have been very interested in getting one of these from the start and have been to the dealer to get details but they still don't have everything.

Allpar's website had said the tow rating for the V6 was 5000 lbs on one site and 3500 on another. Which is it? I have trouble understanding why it would only be 3500 with an engine that powerful unless it was the transmission?

Also, do we have final mpg figures for all the models?

My boat only weights about 2400lbs with trailer but don't generally like to pull something closer to the limit for long hauls,

Thanks for any info,
Russ

Russ-great to have ya!
As with the current 3.7.....you would just need to upgrade the stock hitch to a class 3 or 4 and you could probably tow 6-7000 pounds

Awesome. Have you had experience even with the current 3.7 pulling around 2500-3500 lbs? I was using the rating as a way to gauge how hard it would be for the jeep to pull it as well as for warranty stuff.

My 4runner that I will be trading in for the jeep says it can pull 5000 lbs and when pulling my boat on the highway at 70mph stays between 2200-2500 rpm unless I am going up a fairly large hill.

I am thinking about the overland 4X4 with the 3.7L so I can still get the better mpg. I have a 20 mile commute to work so it can add up,

It is the new 3.6L Pentastar V6 engine (290 hp) that will be in the 2011.

I think it is rated 16-mpg
On paper it sounds good & Jeep seems very proud of this engine, but only time will tell!

Max towing for the 3.6 V6 is 5000 lbs.

EPA for the V6 w/4WD is 16/22 mpg (vs 13/19 for the 5.7L).
