to space or not to space
Should I get wheel spacers for my 2002 wj? I haven't really heard any definitive opinions. I have someone who can get them on the cheap. Opinions?

to just 'space' them out for no other

or is there another purpose?

Re: to space or not to space
My old zj had wider spaced rims and it handled a lot better. Also i don't like the look of the wheels being so sunk in. in my opinion i think they should at least be flush with the fender.

if done safely, out to the fenders edge is ok IMO. i see jerks adding a 1/4 spacer and losing 4 of the 8 available threads on the wheel studs. then not so good.

the spacer has to bolt on vs the type mentioned above. I like the look and wider stance. I needed it for tire clearance.

My opinion is to get wider tires/rims if you want them to stick out more. I've seen lots of vehicles w/ spacers. The wheels are flush with the body and look good from the side. When you see them from the front or back they don't look so good w/ the thin tires. To me, something doesn't look right w/ a wide stance and thin tires. Just IMO.

If you do get spacers, get the ones that have their own studs on the spacer.
