Where to buy?? Mopar diff fluid/additive

If I can't find it, I'm just going to buy some Royal Purple but when I had my "front diff bushing" replaced at the dealership, they refilled the front with the Mopar stuff, and now I have to do the rear fluid change myself. I would like to keep it Mopar if I could...

I went to wkjeeps.com and copy/pasted the p/n for the rear diff fluid and additive for ELSD into google and I can't find the stuff anywhere? I then typed in Mopar 75W-140 and didn't get very far on that either. I would like to not pay $30/quart for this stuff..

FYI, wkjeeps says that the diff takes 57.5oz. plus 2oz. of additive but the fluid is sold by the quart, so for anyone wondering, you need to buy two quarts because one quart is equal to 32 fluid ounces.

I think your best bet would be getting it from the dealer if you want to buy Mopar, & don't feel bad, I had to change my transfer case fluid (Mopar NV146) and it costs like $52.00 a quart, glad thats something I don't have to change often...

But like you said Royal Purple would work fine and you can buy that anywhere. :D

don't make the same mistake as me and buy the pep boys/autozone LSD additive...stuff didn't work for me...I did, however, just change it again this weekend to the mopar LSD additive (pn 04318060AB) and the chattering, etc. is gone! woohoo!

If you go to moparpartsamerica.com, enter in that p/n but omit the first 0 and iirc, comes to $5-something for 4 oz...I got lazy and went to dealer and after 9.75 commitax, it came to 9-something, ugh.

As for the oil itself, I used Mobil1 75w-140 and always recommend it and is a dollar or two cheaper than that purple stuff (I've used it, but can't justify the extra cost, esp since it didn't work as good for me on my other stuff).

oh yeah, check it out for p/n's

Buy Mobil 1 for the diff fluid. 4 quarts is enough. Should be around $18/quart at Advance or Auto Zone.

You can get the additive at the dealer. Just go to the parts counter and tell them you need two bottles of the additive for the differentials in a WK. They should know what it is. If not give them the part number. It should be between $8 and $12 per bottle. Get two.

Oh wait you said rear only. Make that 2 quarts and one bottle of the additive.

btw - speaking of Mobil1...Pep Boys is $1 more a quart (17.99) vs. autozone (16.99), fwiw...I found this out the day AFTER I bought some, ugh...Imagine you get (bleeped) by sales tax up there to0 so, so that's almost 3 bucks by the time you're done. Not much, but every little bit is more to use on something worthwhile!

Thanks for the info. I forgot to mention Amsoil.. I think the race shop I go to uses Amsoil .. opinions?

The only problem with "going to the dealer" is that the closest one is either 20 miles away and a bridge toll or 33 miles away.. not convenient.

plus the dealer charges 240 per axle and it only takes a few minutes to do.

I agree, but to do it right you have to take the cove off and I don't have a torque wrench and I'm not taking it to the dealer, I have a shop that I trust.
