Proper way to Debadge?

How do you safely debadge... Id like to remove... jeep on front and back 4x4 and Laredo badges on the liftgate.

This is what I did.

1. Buy some Sticker Spray Remover (From Advanced Auto Parts)
2. Spray it over what you want to take off and wait 3-5 minutes
3. Get some Dental Floss and a Hair Dryer
4. Get the Hair Dryer and put it over the Badges
5. Put the Dental Floss behind the emblem and begin to put behind the Emblem and it should come off.

If some residue is left over, get that Sticker Spray Remover and spray it over and rub it off!

just don't do what I did and use scotch bright for the remainder residue LOL

what Paul said is perfect

if dental floss is too weak then use fishing rope

Wipe away any dirt from the immediate area around the badges, grab some floss or fishing line, get a hair dryer and heat up the badge and once you can move the badge a bit with your hand take the floss or line and place it behind the badge and pull it from behind to separate the 3m backing.

Repeat on all badges and you should be all set.

also if there is some discoloration or the faint jeep is still there take some UC to it with scratch X and it works like a charm plus ur polishing this weekend so u should be set

Good.. I was worried that some where pressed into the bodywork like the god awful honda badge on the hood of my old accord. lol.

Yeah heat, goo gone, floss. Then rubbing compond/scratch remover stuff to polish it out... i have to do that to the rest of the jeep anyway when I'm giving it a good cleaning this weekend.

lol mario scared the shit out of me when i saw his method on my jeep!:confused::confused::eek::eek::eek:

nonetheless it was very effective and easy.

heat gun, nice rag, flat head = pops right off with backing/adhesive still attached to the emblems----no clean up afterwords- took less than 5 minutes.

very happy.:thumbsup::D
